Ride Along producer Will Packer has hired UTA motion picture literary agent Barbara Dreyfus as head of motion pictures for his new Will Packer Productions.

The company recently signed a three-year, first-look deal at Universal and is riding high on the back of the record $48.6m four-day MLK holiday number one launch of Ride Along.

Dreyfus has spent the last 13 years at UTA representing writers, directors and producers and prior to that she was an agent at ICM for eight years in the motion picture literary department. 

Packer’s 2014 slate includes the remake of About Last Night starring Michael Ealy, Regina Hall, Hart and Joy Bryant, thriller No Good Deed starring Idris Elba and Taraji P Henson and sequel Think Like A Man Too.
