‘Paul & Paulette Take A Bath’

EXCLUSIVE: Conic has acquired UK-Ireland distribution rights to UK independent feature Paul & Paulette Take a Bath.

The film debuted in Critics’ Week at Venice 2024, where it won the Critics’ Week audience award and Cinema & Arts award. Conic acquired the film from sales agent Loco Films, and will release it in UK-Ireland cinemas this summer.

Paul & Paulette Take a Bath is a romantic comedy about an American photographer and a French woman with a taste for the macabre. Their chance encounter on a Parisian boulevard sparks a connection that grows around a dark game, of reenacting scenes of notorious crimes at the sites where they occurred.

It is the feature debut of British-French director Jethro Massey, who wrote, directed and produced the film through his UK company Film Fabric.

Paul & Paulette… has played at festivals including Busan, Sao Paulo, Belfast, Dinard and Mumbai’s Red Lorry Film Festival, winning best first feature at the latter.

It joins a Conic slate that includes Justin Kurzel’s first non-fiction feature Ellis Park, about musician Warren Ellis; and India Donaldson’s Sundance 2024 title Good One.
