
EXCLUSIVE: Breaking Glass has acquired US and Canada distribution rights to Nicolangelo Gelormini’s Venice 2025 title Gioia and Andrea De Sica’s Rome premiere The Eyes Of Others from Italian sales agent Vision Distribution.
The deals follow screenings of both films at the Open Roads: New Italian Cinema film festival held in New York from May 28-June 4.
Gioia, which centres on a student and teacher romance that turns dark, stars Valeria Golino and Saul Nanni. It premiered in Venice’s Giornate degli Autori section last year and has since played at over 30 festivals including Thessaloniki, Mar del Plata, IBICINE and Miami.
The film has also sold to Germany, Austria and Switzerland (Busch Media), France and French-speaking territories (Destiny), Portugal (Risi Film), Bulgaria (Beta), Taiwan (Av Jet) and Eastern Europe (HBO Europe).
The Eyes Of Others, about erotic games slipping into obsession, premiered in the main competition at the Rome Film Festival, where in 2025 it received the best actress award for Jasmine Trinca.
It has also sold to Spain (Alfa Pictures), Germany, Austria and Switzerland (Busch Media), Baltics - Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia (Best Film), Australia/NZ (Palace) and Bulgaria (Beta).
