‘Virginia Woolf’s Night And Day’

The world premiere of Tina Gharavi’s Virginia Woolf’s Night And Day, starring Haley Bennett and Jack Whitehall, will open SXSW London’s 2026 screen festival (June 1-6).

Jennifer Saunders, Lily Allen, Sally Phillips and Misia Butler also star in the adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s 1919 novel Night And Day. WestEnd Films represents sales.

Another world premiere joining the line-up is Peter Glanz’s dark satire, Savage House, starring Richard E. Grant, Claire Foy, Bel Powley and Jack Farthing, set amid an 18th-century pox outbreak in England.

New to the series programme is a first look at Warner Bros Animation’s Adult Swim animated series, Get Jiro, based on the DC/Vertigo graphic novel by the late chef Anthony Bourdain.

Additions to the industry speaker sessions include and event with BFI Filmmaking Fund director Mia Bays and The Young Vic artistic director and Brides filmmaker Nadia Fall, who will discuss the responsibility of creative leadership.

Additionally, Tara Erer (head of originals UK and Europe, Prime Video) and Hannah Griffiths (head of adaptations, Banijay) will talk about how viral literary trends are transformed into global streaming hits, while UK-France producer Pernel Media’s Samuel Kissous and Glasgow-based Synchronicity Films’ Claire Mundell will debate the economics of global co-productions.

Thomas Jordan, Toy Story 5 VFX supervisor and casting directors Sophie Holland and Lucy Pardee will also be in conversation.

SXSW London has also unveiled six UK premieres screening as part of the official competition.
