Fresh from Saturday night’s (7) world premiere of The Green Inferno, wheels are in motion on Beyond The Green Inferno. Exclusive Media will reprise its role as international sales agent and CAA arranged financing and represents US rights.

Eli Roth will not direct but will present the film and produce and hands over the reins to Nicolas Lopez, who will direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Roth and Guillermo Amoedo.

Worldview Entertainment CEO Christopher Woodrow and COO Molly Conners will produce alongside Lopez and Miguel Asensio Llamas of Sobras International Pictures. Worldview’s Maria Cestone and Sarah E Johnson are the executive producers.

Principal photography will commence next spring in Chile and Peru. Plot details remain under wraps.

“Our plan with Beyond The Green Inferno is to make a sequel in the tradition of Aliens, where the creative team went bigger, darker and scarier into the unknown,” said Lopez, who previously collaborated with Roth as the director on Aftershock.

“Filming deep in the Amazon was a fascinating, life-changing experience, and we quickly learned there’s an entire world of stories, legends, myths and monsters in that jungle,” said Roth. “It’s endless. Living in isolation we saw first-hand just how far and deep we could take the world of The Green Inferno.”
