Turn It Up!

EXCLUSIVE: Yellow Veil Pictures has boarded worldwide sales on upcoming Tribeca Festival (June 3-14) world premiere horror selection Turn It Up! and will commence talks in Cannes next month.

Canadian filmmaker Sam Scott’s feature directorial debut participated in the 2025 Frontières Buyers Showcase selection at the Cannes Marché. The film centres on an indie rock band who stumble upon a riff that opens a gateway to a nightmarish dimension that threatens to consume everyone who hears it.

The film will debut in the Escape From Tribeca section (Tribeca Festival runs June 3-14) and the ensemble cast includes Justine Nelson, Gwenlyn Cumyn, Ry Barrett, Noah Lamanna, Bruce McCulloch, and veteran Canadian actor Julian Richings.

Scott and Cumyn co-wrote the screenplay, and the Turn It Up! producers are Jesse Thomas Cook and Liv Collins of Collingwood Film Company alongside Mike Gillespie of Last Frame Pictures.

Cook and Collins said of Yellow Veil: “They have an incredible instinct for wild, unruly genre cinema. With its interdimensional chaos and electrifying garage rock energy, this film needed champions who truly get it.”

“Sam’s film is the perfect blend we love to defend at Yellow Veil Pictures,” partner Hugues Barbier said. “A very smart take on a classic trope, some bad-ass special effects, glorious acting, and a garage rock soundtrack that we can’t wait to see the audience responding to. The whole team is a dream to work with.”
