Edward Noeltner's LosAngeles-based sales company Cinema Management Group (CMG) has picked upinternational rights to Jose Roberto Torero's Brazilian comedy Manual ForLove Stories (Como Fazer Um FilmeDe Amor).

The picture recentlyreceived its world premiere at the Montreal World Film Festival; CMG willrepresent it at next month's AFM in Santa Monica.

Styled as a deconstructionof classic romantic comedies, Manual For Love Stories stars Denise Fraga, Cassio Gabus Mendes and MarizaOrth and is set to open in Brazil on Oct 29 through Miramax's long-time localdistributor Lumiere, which also served as co-producer.

The comedy was produced byZita Carvalhosa, with financial support from tax shelter laws and the BrazilianFilm Agency Ancine.

'For a first-time director,Jose Roberto Torero shows considerable talent and craftsmanship as well as athorough understanding of the genre," Noeltner said in a statement.

"Only when you know film andthe conventions of genre can you have so much fun with turning things upsidedown - and what has come out is wall-to-wall laughter right through the endcredits of this film."

This is the third LatinAmerican picture CMG has picked up in recent months, following the acquisitionof Elia Schneider's Venezuelan action picture and foreign language Oscar entry PuntoY Raya in July, and GonzaloJustiniano's award winning Chilean drama B-Happy in August.

CMG scored a hit with theanimated picture Hoodwinked: The True Story Of Red Riding Hood, a 3-D CGI feature that has sold in more than 30territories. All four CMG titles will screen at AFM.
