Northern Film & Media’s Filming Friendly Partnership has now been signed by Northumberland County Council, and NF&M will now launch phase two of its Filming Friendly Partnership to extend to larger locations across the region.

The North East of England is now the first UK region to have all local authorities committed to production.

Recent projects shot in the area include Bollywood project Hum Tum Aur Ghost, One Night in Turin, and Joe Maddison’s War and Vera.

Tom Harvey, CEO, Northern Film & Media: “The North East’s iconic locations have created the backdrop to some of the most celebrated films and TV. The Filming Friendly Partnership will give us an edge over other parts of the UK in bringing production to the region. Establishing the North East as a world class production destination will develop our creative industries infrastructure and give our tourism a significant boost. The filming of Harry Potter increased revenue at Alnwick Castle by £9m - this agreement puts the tools in place to help us repeat in Northumberland and across the North East.”
