Golden Globe-nominated actor Chris Noth will be on the red carpet at the 16th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan) next month.

The star from Sex And The City and The Good Wife will be at PiFan to present 3, 2, 1… Frankie Go Boom at its Gala Night on July 21. He will also be at the South Korean festival’s Opening Night on July 19.

Written and directed by Jordan Roberts, the low-budget independent comedy Frankie Go Boom will be making its Asian premiere at PiFan. The film stars Charlie Hunnam as the long-suffering brother of a wannabe filmmaker (Chris O’Dowd) who uploads videos of his sibling’s humiliations to promote his career. Frankie Go Boom features Chris Noth as a free-wheeling, burnt-out TV star whose daughter unwittingly gets mixed up with the brothers. The film also features Hell Boy star Ron Perlman as a transsexual computer hacker.

The comedy is programmed in PiFan’s Vision Express section along with other films such as Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar, Pang Ho Cheung’s Vulgaria and Bart Layton’s The Imposter.

PiFan will run for 11 days with the Awards Ceremony on July 27 and encore screenings July 28-29. The Gala Nights are a new institution for the fest, which plans to make “every night a Gala night” at the Bucheon City Hall.
