Film in development now with Cartoon Saloon and director Tomm Moore, who worked on Oscar-nominated The Secret of Kells.
Optimum Releasing has come on board for UK and Irish rights to Tomm Moore’s new animation feature Song Of The Sea.
The film is currently in development and will be produced by Kilkenny-based Cartoon Saloon, which was behind Moore’s Oscar-nominated The Secret of Kells.
The story follows the last Seal Child’s journey home.
Moore will direct and animate, and the film was co-written with Will Collins (My Brothers).
Co-producers are Noerlum Studios (Denmark), Big Farm (Belgium). Post-production and music will be done by Super Productions (France).
Backers include the Irish Film Board/BSÉ and MEDIA.
