Palm Pictures has acquiredworldwide DVD rights to Jennifer Arnold's American Mullet. The film explores the history and evolution of theMullet haircut, which is distinguished by a short front and long back. Theproject started out as The Mullet Chronicles, a web-based series that premiered at the SundanceOnline Festival, and eventually became a full-blown documentary feature aboutthe haircut's dispersal among America's diverse ethnic and social groups fromMexican immigrants to Country & Western aficionados.

The deal was negotiated byDavid Koh, head of acquisitions & co-productions for Palm Pictures, JoshBraun of Submarine Entertainment and Jennifer Silver and Jodi Peikoff of theJodi Peikoff law office on behalf of the director. "We are very excited towork with Jennifer Arnold," Koh said in a statement. "The film isvery funny and informative and will make a great DVD." He added PalmPictures plans to market the film through its entertainment site, sputnik7.com.

Palm is currently enjoying aminor hit in the US with its Spanish-language pickup Sex Y Lucia directed by Julio Medem.
