Participant Productions is partnering with producers Jay Chandrasekhar and Julia Dray of Broken Lizard to develop the comedy Taildraggers.

Participant's director of production Nate Moore will oversee the project about five slackers in Alaska who stumble upon a plot to syphon oil while working as pilots for a low-budget airline. Will Gluck is attached to write the script.

'The concept behind Taildraggers grabbed out attention first and foremost because it was funny and entertaining,' executive vice president of production Jonathan King said.

'Comedies can be as effective as dramas in telling stories about issues and highlighting how people can make a difference, but, really, Taildraggers made us laugh. That it is actually about something is simply icing on the cake.'

Participant's upcoming slate includes Charlie Wilson's War from Mike Nichols, Marc Forster's The Kite Runner, and documentaries S.O.P. (Standard Operating Procedure) from Errol Morris and Carter from Jonathan Demme.
