Pawel Pawlikowski, the acclaimed director of Last Resort, has started shooting his new film, My Summer Of Love.

Described as a loose adaptation of the book by Helen Cross, it is the story of the friendship and burgeoning sexuality of two teenage girls - one rich, one poor - who form an unlikely alliance one summer in Yorkshire.

The film stars Paddy Considine, Emily Blunt and Nathalie Press, and shoots from August 4 to September 12.

Produced by Apocalypso Pictures, My Summer Of Love is backed by BBC Films, The Film Consortium, the Film Council and Baker Street with international sales handled by The Works.

Producers are Tanya Seghatchian and Chris Collins, and it is executive produced by Chris Auty. The script is by Michael Wynne and Pawlikowski.

Last Resort won the Michael Powell Award for Best New British Feature at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2000, and was selected for competition at the Venice International Film Festival the same year.
