Peace Arch has acquired international sales rights to Moderncine’s Offspring: The Woman based on Jack Ketchum and Lucky McKee’s upcoming horror novel.

Angela Bettis and Pollyanna McIntosh are set to star in the project and the producers have scheduled a late June start for principal photography in Michigan.

McKee will direct the tale of a disturbed lawyer who sets out to capture and tame the last surviving member of a violent clan that has terrorised the Northeast coast for decades.

McIntosh reprises her role as The Woman from the earlier Ketchum adaptation Offspring that Ghosthouse Underground distributed on DVD in the US last year through Lionsgate.

Peace Arch’s Julie Sultan and Paul Gardner negotiated the deal with producer Andrew van den Houten of Moderncine.
