Munich-based sales agent Beta Cinema has announced that Picturehouse - HBO and New Line Cinema's newly-formeddistribution venture - has picked up the North American rights for Sergei Bodrov's forthcomingfeature film Mongol - TheEarly Years Of Genghis Khan. This follows sales to the Benelux, Brazil and Australia & New Zealand.

The news was revealed at the Munich Film Festival, where Mongolian-bornfilmmaker Byambasuren Davaa,co-director of last year's hit documentary TheStory Of The Weeping Camel, received the GermanFilm Promotion Award for Best Direction for her new feature The Cave Of The Yellow Dog

Davaa's film had its world premiere at Munich and has already been sold by sales agent Telepool to ARP (France),Ascot Elite (Switzerland),Toshiba Entertainment (Japan),Karma Films (Spain)and Hopscotch (Australia/New Zealand).

The Film Promotion Award, was also awarded by the jury of producerUschi Reich, actress Alexandra Maria Lara andscreenwriter Benedikt Roeskauto Emily Atef and Esther Bernstorff for their screenplay for Molly's Way, while best actress went to Maria Kwiatkowski for herrole in Liebe Amelie by Maris Pfeifer; and Best Actor to Constantinvon Jascheroff for his role in Low Profile (Falscher Bekenner)by Christoph Hochhaeusler.
