Mark Pinkerton has been named senior vice president, finance, capital management at Paramount Pictures.

In this newly created position, Pinkerton will take charge of strategic capital financing activities, including securing film financing and driving return on capital measurement for all Paramount business units. He will report to Paramount's chief financial officer Mark Badagliacca.

Pinkerton arrives from biotechnology company Amgen where as assistant treasurer he was responsible for liquidity planning, portfolio management, and annual share repurchases.

'With his extensive experience in corporate treasury management, entertainment financing and joint ventures, Mark will be a great addition to our team,' Badagliacca said.

Prior to joining Amgen, Pinkerton served as vice president, treasurer for NBC Universal and held a variety of finance and corporate positions at Vivendi Universal Entertainment and predecessor companies.

Before that, Pinkerton spent more than a decade at Lehman Brothers, serving in several executive positions in investment banking and equity research.
