Pirates Of The Caribbean ran riot at the weekend, plundering $24.1m in internationalbox office treasure including four European number one openings.

The film grossed $5.5m on646 screens in France and scored a superb $4.3m on 343 in Spain for Buena VistaInternational's biggest ever opening there.

The distributor said the Spanishbow was also the industry's fifth biggest all-time opening in theterritory.

In Belgium Pirates grossed $1.1m on 80 screens for BVI's biggestever launch and the industry's 10th biggest all-time opening, whileHolland's $1.4m on 110 was BVI's biggest ever and the industry'seighth biggest bow.

In its third week in Japanthe film climbed 1% and added $4m for a $27m total to date, while the secondweekend in the UK saw it drop 19%, adding $4.2m for a $15.3m running total.

Overall the film has grossed$72m in international markets to date.

Bruce Almighty grossed $3m at the weekend for a $173m internationalrunning total. It opens in France on Sept 3.

Finding Nemo added $2.5m for a $61m total to date. It opens inAustralia on Aug 28, the UK on Oct 3 and the rest of Europe will open beforeChristmas.
