The Film Sales Company’s director of acquisitions Michael Lerman has been appointed director of programming at the Philadelphia International Film Festival.

The festival runs from October 15-19 and will open with Law Abiding Citizen and close with Precious: Based On The Novel “Push” By Sapphire.

Thirty-seven films will screen and Good Hair and The Messenger are the centerpiece selections.

Lerman will work year-round, curating for two of the Philadelphia Film Society’s monthly series, filmadelphiaINDEPENDENT and filmadelphiaDOCUMENTARY.
