Freddie Prinze Jr will star in an untitled martial arts movie to be produced by Miramax Films which acquired the untitled pitch from Robert Mark Kamen, writer of the Karate Kid series and A Walk In The Clouds.

The project tells the story of an American boy raised by Chinese monks after his parents are murdered in the Golden Triangle who travels to New York City to seek out his only living relative and avenge his parents' death.

Kamen personally pitched the project to Harvey Weinstein, the co-chairman of Miramax Films, Bob Osher, co-president of production, Michelle Raimo, vice president of development and production, and Louis Anderman, director of creative affairs. Raimo and Anderman brought the project to Miramax and will oversee the development of the project with Osher. Miramax had previously bought another thriller spec from Kamen entitled Leaving Eden.
