In an attempt to kick-start its English-language ambitions,Studio Hamburg International Production (SHIP) has entered an alliance withLA-based producer Alan Greenspan.

The deal, which was brokered by CAA,will provide SHIP with increased access to English projects and talent, whilegiving Greenspan access to international finance for projects in the $10m-$30mrange.

'If you have access to good material, financing throughStudio Hamburg, and access to talent that I will be able to provide, then ninetimes out of ten you are going to get to make a film,' Greenspan said. 'Thetypes of films we are looking to make are the ones the studios' specialty divisionsare eager to distribute.'

Greenspan's producer credits include Fever Pitch and A Good Woman;he was previously partnered with Mike Newell in DogstarFilms where he produced or executive produced titles including 200 Cigarettes, Photographing Fairies,Donnie Brasco, High Fidelity and Pushing Tin.

His International Arts Entertainment shares offices in LAwith SHIP.

Meanwhile, Beta Cinema has taken on world sales for SHIP's second feature project The Three Investigators And The Secret OfSkeleton Island which began shooting in South Africa this month.
