Production has begun in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Let Me In, Hammer Films’ English-language retelling of the Swedish vampire hit Let The Right One In that Overture Films will release in North America.

Exclusive Film Distribution is handling international sales on the film and will be talking to buyers at AFM. Let Me In is the first in a two-picture co-production, financing and distribution agreement between Overture and Hammer’s parent company Exclusive Media Group. 

Matt Reeves, who scored a hit with the cult genre film Cloverfield, adapted the screenplay about an alienated 12-year-old boy who befriends a mysterious newcomer and discovers an unconventional path to adulthood.

Kodi Smit-McPhee from The Road and Chloe Moretz from 500 Days Of Summer will play the leads. Richard Jenkins, Elias Koteas, Cara Buono and Sasha Barrese round out the key cast.

Hammer’s Simon Oakes, Guy East and Nigel Sinclair are producing with Donna Gigliotti and Sweden’s John Nordling and Carl Molinder, who produced Let The Right One In. Hammer’s Alex Brunner and Tobin Armbrust will serve as executive producers alongside John Ptak, Philip Elway and Fredrik Malmberg.
