Woody Harrelson, drawing awards season heat for his performance in Rampart, has joined the cast of Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walken on the action comedy. Shooting got underway in LA on Nov 7.

Martin McDonagh directs from his screenplay and reunites with his In Bruges star Farrell. Blueprint Pictures is producing and Film4 is co-financing with the BFI Film Fund and US rights holder CBS Films. Hanway Films handles international sales.

Farrell will play a struggling screenwriter whose friends inadvertently steal a gangster’s beloved dog. Tom Waits is also on board and Olga Kurylenko is in negotiations.

Graham Broadbent and Peter Czernin are attached to produce alongside executive producer Tessa Ross for Film4.

CAA represents Farrell, Harrelson and Kurylenko, and co-represents McDonagh with the Knight Hall Agency in London. The agency packaged and arranged financing and brokered the deal on behalf of the producers with CBS Films. Rockwell is represented by Gersh, Walken by ICM and Waits by WME.
