Mark Amin and award winning Iranian filmmaker Babak Payami are collaborating on the story of a dying artist who paints a beautiful vampire who wants to see an image of herself for the first time.

Production is scheduled to get underway in autumn. Payam Films co-founder Payami will direct and serves as producer alongside Amin and Sobini’s Cami Winikoff and David Higgins.

Payam Films co-owner Charles Wachsberg is financing the project and serves as executive producer. Sobini’s Tyler Boehm is overseeing for the company. Matt Deller wrote the screenplay.

“The dazzling uniqueness of our vampire is that despite her powers, she develops a taste for humanity through the struggles of a dying artist and surrenders immortality to become human for love,” Payami said.

Manhattan Undying is a fresh take on the vampire mythology,” Amin said. “Babak’s artistic vision is bringing together a remarkable team to bring this project to life.”
