AKA and Bow Street Films have merged to create a slate of sub-$3m films that Celluloid Nightmares will sell worldwide. First to go will be Parts Per Billion starring Frank Langella, Gena Rowlands, Rosario Dawson and Josh Hartnett.

AKA/Bow Street Films (AKA/BSF) will focus on genre and titles from upcoming filmmakers. The slate includes previously announced XYZ Films’ completed mystery The Rambler starring Dermot Mulroney.

Brian Horiuchi will direct Parts Per Billion from his own screenplay about three couples who deal with the same event that threatens to tear them apart. AKA Pictures owner Benaroya Pictures is financing the ensemble.

“Benaroya Pictures doesn’t often make films for under $3m,” said Michael Benaroya. “AKA/Bow Street Films will focus on this part of the marketplace, becoming specialists at delivering top quality product with great stars for a sensible price.”

Bow Street Films co-founders Joe Jenckes and David Dickson will work alongside Benaroya on the new venture. Jenckes continues his role as head of production at Benaroya Pictures.
