The company is teaming up with Paranormal Activity producer Jason Blum on the project, which co-president Gary Michael Walters described last night [9] as being like a throwback to Fatal Attraction.

Affinity International, Bold Films’ and OddLot Entertainment’s joint sales division, will handle international sales on the title.

Bob Swaim will direct Trouble starring Svetlana Metkina in the lead as a woman who shows her dark side when a young medical student with whom she is having an affair tries to end it.

Mark L Smith (Vacancy) Alain Ross and Swaim adapted Jesse Kellerman’s novel of the same name.

Bold Films founder and principal Michel Litvak and co-president David Lancaster are producing with Blum. Walters will take an executive producer credit.

Trouble is, in many ways, a throwback to the sexy thrillers like Fatal Attraction that helped define the genre,” Walters said.

Swaim directed the French film La Balance as well as the thrillers Masquerade and Half Moon Street. Metkina previously starred in Bobby and Mini’s First Time and is set to star in Bold’s action-comedy Spy High.
