The business partners have boarded The Weinstein Company’s August: Osage Country based on Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play.

Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts will star in the adaptation and further casting is underway ahead of a scheduled autumn start.

John Wells will direct from Letts’ screen adaptation about divergent and dysfunctional female members of a clan whose paths cross after a target.

Clooney and Heslov join Jean Doumanian Productions and Steve Traxler as producers. Claire Rudnick Polstein serves as executive producer.
