The $5m comedy heist movie will shoot in the UK and Canada.
Cleanskin director Hadi Hajaig’s next feature will be a $5m heist comedy movie, which will shoot this summer mostly in the UK, with a small portion in Canada.
Hajaig has written the script for Blue Iguana. The finance is being raised via EIS.
The British director is in negotiations with a well known American actor to take the lead. The film will be produced by David Sumnall and Hajaig.
Hajaig’s last feature, Cleanskin, which stars Sean Bean, was released by Warner Bros in the UK on friday. International sales company Salt secured a slew of deals on the project at the AFM, including to eOne in the US, France and Germany and to Warner Bros in Australia.
“Blue Iguana is a completely different tack to Cleanskin, a heist movie with a difference which includes romance, pop music, lots of action and a blue diamond shaped like an Iguana’s head that bestows true love on to its owner,” says Hajaig.
