Timo Vuorensola is going the crowd-sourcing route for his long-gestating dark comedy about Nazis on the Moon and plans to raise $70,000.

Vuorensola is looking for post-production financing after Iron Sky, a dark sci-fi comedy about Nazis who fled to the Moon to plot revenge after the Allied victory in World War Two, qualified for assistance from the German Federal Film Fund and received support from the Frankfurt regional fund, HessenInvest Film.

Interactor was launched last month by Instinctive Film and Twitchfilm and offers paid access to filmmaker blogs and production diaries and encourages public funding support. Iron Sky is the first involving Interactor that is not part of the Instinctive Film slate.

“I wanted to set Iron Sky up on Interactor because I dig the potential the site offers, and the focus on simplicity works for me well,” Vuorensola said.

Interactor will upgrade at the end of April to allow access for Spanish, German, Russian and Chinese participants.
