Intrepid Pictures has begun principal photography in Hungary on The Raven starring John Cusack, Alice Eve and Luke Evans. 

Faster’s Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Brenda Gleeson, Kevin McNally, Pam Ferris and newcomers Brendan Coyle and James Yuill have joined the cast on the coproduction between Intrepid, Spain’s Galavis Film and FilmNation.

The project tells of the final days of the gothic writer Edgar Allan Poe as he tracks a serial killer whose crimes mirror the author’s stories. In reality the final days of Poe’s life remain a mystery that have intrigued literary scholars for decades.

The Raven will relocate to Serbia in late December. Intrepid’s Trevor Macy and Marc D Evans are producing alongside Galavis Films’ Jesus Martinez and Aaron Ryder for FilmNation.
