Lionsgate will commence pre-sales in Cannes on the action drama Machine Gun Preacher that Marc Forster will direct starring Gerard Butler.

Jason Keller’s screenplay is inspired by the true story of former gang biker Sam Childers who turned his life around and dedicated it to saving children from African warzones.

Robbie Brenner, Gary Safady, Deborah Giarratana and Craig Chapman are producing and Brad Simpson and Myles Nestel are serving as executive producers.  

Butler currently stars in Sony’s action comedy The Bounty Hunter. Forster’s last outing as director was on the James Bond tale Quantum Of Solace.
