The companies will co-produce and Paramount will distribute while Indian Paintbrush will co-finance the project with the company’s Steven Rales and Mark Roybal serving as executive producers.

Labor Day will star Kate Winslet as a single mother who shelters an escaped convict, to be played by Josh Brolin, over a long Labor Day weekend.

Reitman adapted the screenplay from Joyce Maynard’s book of the same name. He previously collaborated with Paramount on Up In The Air and the upcoming Young Adult, due out in December.

Lianne Halfon and Russell Smith of Mr Mudd Productions are producing Labor Day alongside Reitman and Helen Estabrook of Right Of Way Films.

Indian Paintbrush, Mr Mudd and Right Of Way Films are also produced the Toronto premiere and Paramount Vantage film Jeff, Who Lives At Home starring Jason Segel and Ed Helms.
