Peter Bogdanovich is partnering with Santa Monica-based Das Films for his latest project.

Bogdanovich will adapt and direct Kurt Anderson’s best-selling book Turn Of The Century. Company principal Sriram Das will produce the project with Melanie Shanley, which is scheduled to start shooting in New York in spring.

Bogdanovich’s writing partner Parish Rahbar will co-write the script, set in early 2000 as a professional couple struggle to hold on to their lives and family amid the hectic pace of existence.

“Peter is one of the great minds of cinema and I am so pleased that we are teaming with him to bring Kurt’s book to the big screen,” Das said. “His vision for this film and passion for the novel will bring an incredibly funny and powerful story to audiences around the world.”

“This is a challenging and unusual project and I’m looking forward to making the film,” Bogdanovich added.

Bogdanovich’s credits include The Last Picture Show, What’s Up, Doc? and Mask.

Das Films was founded in 2007 and has acquired a development slate of 19 projects based on bestselling books.
