It will be the fifth time the director has shot at the UK studio.

Production has begun at Pinewood Studios on Ridley Scott’s sci fi epic Prometheus.

The Twentieth Century Fox, Scott Free Productions and Brandywine Productions film is using several stages at Pinewood including the 007 stage.

Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron star in the film, which is scheduled for a June 2012 release.

Scott is a Pinewood regular having shot four of his previous films - Alien, Legend, White Squall and Robin Hood - at the UK studios.

Scott said of working at the studios: “It’s my heritage, my personal heritage, I film everywhere in the world and I think all things considered what we have to offer here are as good as anything you’re going to get in Hollywood.”

Andrew M. Smith, group director corporate affairs for Pinewood Studios said it was a “ testament to the UK’s experienced crews as well as the expertise of hundreds of complementary media companies based on site, that these films continue to choose Pinewood to film.”
