Jason Statham will play the Burt Reynolds character from the original. Sierra/Affinity commenced pre-sales in earlier this year in Berlin.

Shooting is set to begin in February 2013. Steven Chasman will produce for SJ Pictures alongside Statham. France’s Quad Films is co-producing.

Cory Yuen reunites with Statham from The Transporter as the action director and fight choreographer. 

William Goldman’s screenplay is based on his novel of the same name about a compulsive gambler who works security jobs in Las Vegas and takes on the Mob after his friend is attacked.

Sierra/Affinity has closed deals in the UK (Lionsgate), Japan (Klockworx), China (Star Alliance), South Korea (Fine Pictures), Hong Kong (PT Parkit), Indonesia (PT Amero Mitra), South Africa (Ster Kinekor), Benelux (Source Investments) and Switzerland (Ascot Elite).
