Submarine genre label Torpedo lines up Thai remake

The film follows a woman who becomes embroiled in a criminal enterprise when she is mistaken by gangsters for else. Pen-ek Ratanaruang directed the 1999 original.

David Koh, Stanley Buchthal, Dan Braun, and Josh Braun brokered the deal on behalf of Torpedo Pictures with the filmmaker.

“We absolutely loved the original movie and love the premise as a great remake in the right hands,” said Koh, Buchthal and the Braun Brothers. “We expect to announce writer and director shortly.”

Torpedo is a joint venture between Submarine and producer Stanley Buchthal and aims to make three to four low-to-mid budget films a year.
