Troika Pictures and Coup d’Etat Films have signed Robert Sheehan, Dev Patel and Zoë Kravitz to star in The Road Within, an English-language adaptation of German comedic drama Vincent Will Meer.

Panorama kicked off international sales in Cannes last month. A US sales agent is expected to be appointed shortly.

Gren Wells [pictured] adapted the screenplay from the 2010 German road movie — English title Vincent Wants To Sea — and will make her feature directorial debut when principal photography commences on Jul 1 in Los Angeles.

The Road Within follows a boy with Tourette Syndrome who embarks on a road trip with two fellow patients from a residential clinic to scatter his mother’s ashes in the ocean.

Bradley Gallo, Robert L Stein and Michael A Helfant produce for Troika Pictures alongside Brent Emery and Guy J Louthan. William Gallo will serve as executive producer.

Paradigm represents Wells and Kravtiz.
