They will star alongside Brendan Fraser in the Belfast-set heist comedy, which is being directed by Terry George and produced by Generator Entertainment.

Layer Cake actor Colm Meaney and The Kids Are Alright actress Yaya DaCosta have joined the cast of Terry George’s comedy Whole Lotta Sole, which also stars Brendan Fraser, Martin McCann and David O’Hara.

Shooting has already begun in Belfast on the film, which centres around a kidnapping and a bungled robbery. It is being directed by Belfast born film-maker Terry George, whose previous directing credits include Hotel Rwanda and Reservation Road.

George, who has received two best screenplay Oscar nominations (for Hotel Rwanda and In The Name Of The Father), has also co-written the screenplay with Thomas Gallagher.

Produced by Simon Bosanquet, Terry George, Jay Russell and David Gorder for Generator Entertainment, it will be the company’s fifth production to shoot in the Belfast region since 2008.

Financing has come from Jeff Steen Enterprises, Archer City Film Group, Molinare and Northern Ireland Screen.

International sales are being handled by LA-based Essential Entertainment with a planned winter 2011 delivery. WME’s Graham Taylor is handling US rights.
