Germany'sProSiebenSat.1 group has launched an in-house sales outfit SevenOneInternational which will have its market premiere at the forthcoming MIPCOM(October 4-8).

The new company will be headed by Jens Richterwho was managing director of KirchMedia's international sales operation BetaFilm from 2000 until May this year. Since leaving Beta Film, Richter has beenworking as a consultant for the ProSiebenSat.1 Group.

ProSiebenSAT.1 CEO Guillaume de Posch explainedthat, since the Group is "one of the biggest commissioners of TVproductions in Germany", it was "a logical consequence to distributethese productions internationally."

SevenOne International will handle sales forproductions by the Group's four broadcasters SAT.1, ProSieben, Kabel 1 and N24.

In addition, the new company will be open topicking up productions by partners outside of the ProSiebenSAT.1 Group forinternational distribution.

Until now, Beta Film had been responsible forthe international marketing of programmes from the ProSiebenSAT.1 Group.However, this contract will now run out in October with the launch of SevenOneInternational.
