UK distributor Redbus Film Distribution was named the fastest growing company in the UK according to the Sunday Times newspaper Fast Track 100.

The company founded by Simon Franks and Zygi Kamasa has in the last two years scored with titles including Bend It Like Beckham, Jeepers Creepers and Cabin Fever. Franks pointed out that last year the company had the same market share as rivals despite only releasing five titles.

"We are delighted by this recognition and proud that we are one of the very few British filmed entertainment companies that are not only profitable but making a mark on the UK business landscape as a whole,' said Franks. 'Despite the many disadvantages that British film companies have to face we have shown that the UK film industry can build sustainable businesses. Who would ever have thought that a film company would be the fastest growing company in the country as a whole'"

The company has now stepped into production through Redbus Pictures, run by Kamasa. In post-production are road comedy Grand Theft Parsons, starring Johnny Knoxville, family comedy Tooth and horror film Madhouse, a co-production with Lakeshore Entertainment.
