Good film executives are a rare breed. Being able to juggle an eye for a good film, the ability to work with the creative team and to handle the intricacies of financing is tough but Richard was a master - sensitive, supportive and with real heart. Its a big loss for Creative England but an even bigger loss for regional film makers. It's a real shame and we need to know why we are in this place and indeed if this round of cuts will have any impact on the already small production fund.
