The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King added $35.2mfrom 8,813 screens in 51 territories at the weekend to raise its internationalrunning total to $454.9m.

It remained top in its fourth weekend in the UK and added $6.7m from1,299 screens for a staggering $83.4m running total.

It also stayed top in Australia, where it took $2.2m from 450 for$24.6m in its third weekend.

Fourth weekends in Spain and France produced $2.1m from 512 andsecond place for $33.8m and $2.5m from 955 for $42.9m respectively.

New Line International's fantasy epic is currently tracking 29%ahead of trilogy predecessor The Two Towers and has already passed thatfilm's final total in both US$ and local currency in Hong Kong, Singapore,Taiwan, Bolivia, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.
