Ridley Scott will head the jury for an internet shorts competition being launched for the first time this year by Switzerland's Cinema Tout Ecran Film and Television Festival, the event has announced.
The Geneva event, which runs October 22-28, will dedicate its annual showcase of TV work from leading film-makers to Canada's David Cronenberg. Along with an international competition for films produced by or for television, the festival is mounting a spotlight on Dutch broadcasting corporation NOS.
A seminar will focus on the development of the audiovisual pact between Swiss television and the local film industry, while prizes will include an award for best Swiss TV movie.
Past winners of the festival's international competition include Atom Egoyan's Gross Misconduct, Michael Apted's Always Outnumbered and Claire Denis' Beau Travail.
