Warner Bros PicturesInternational's The Last Samuraienjoyed the biggest weekend of its Japanese run to date, climbing 70% in itsfifth weekend on an estimated $7.2m (Yen782.5m) from 482 screens for a $61.1m(Yen6.7bn) running total.

Warner reports the week ofDec 27-Jan 2 grossed Yen1.8bn, which represented a rise of 28% over theprevious week.

The film is due to open thisupcoming weekend in the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain and India, among otherterritories.

Elsewhere for Warner Bros, The MatrixRevolutions raised its internationalrunning total to $281.3m following a $1.4m weekend haul and 172,600 admissionsfrom 1,072 screens in 40 territories.

Looney Tunes: Back InAction grossed $3.5m with 626,000admissions from 2,964 screens in 49 territories. Its international runningtotal is now $28.2m.

Mystic River added just over $1m with 200,600 admissions from 594screens in 44 territories for a $37.2m cumulative score. It is due to open inJapan on Jan 10.
