The Sarajevo Film Festival has announced the competition programme of its 13th edition, running from Aug 17 to 25. The feature film competition will include two world premieres, Macedonian-Slovenian-Belgian-French co-production I Am From Titov Veles (Jas Sum Od Titov Veles) by Teona Mitevska and Bosnian-Slovenian-Serbian-German-UK It's Hard To Be Nice (Tesko Je Biti Fin) by Srdjan Vuletic, which will be the opening film of the festival.

Both films are the result of Sarajevo's co-production market CineLink. Ten films will compete for the Heart of Sarajevo for best film, Special Jury award, Heart of Sarajevo for best actress and Heart of Sarajevo for best actor, as well as CICAE award which brings the winner assistance in theatrical distribution in Central and Western Europe.

The Cannes winner, Romanian Cristian Mungiu's 4 Months, 3 Weeks And 2 Days and another Cannes entry, Austrian Ulrich Seidl's Import Export will have gala screenings out of competition.

The best short film will be chosen from nine films, including world premieres of Slovenian Janez Burger's On The Sunny Side Of Alps (Na Soncni Strani Alpi) and the new short by last year's winner Marko Santic, Croatian feature The Hole (Rupa), as well as this year's third Cinefondation prize winner Serbian Pavle Vuckovic's Minus.

The shorts will be awarded in three categories: Heart of Sarajevo for best short film, two special jury mentions and Prix UIP, which also brings the winner a direct nominaton for the european Film Academy Award for best short film.

This year's Focus Programme will be Focus On The Region. It will feature international festival faviourites from the region, including Cristian Nemescu's California Dreaming (Nesfarsit), Bela Tarr's The Man Fron London and Srdan Golubovic's The Trap.
