'Women as heads of state are multiplying in unparalleled numbers and our documentary keeps growing as more women ascend to the top of governments,' Mason said.
The United Nations Development Program and The Council of Women World Leaders have pledged production support for the project, which will document the stories of all 11 of the world's currently seated women presidents and prime ministers.
'We have our first female presidential candidate in the US as well as more female leaders worldwide than ever before,' FBI president Brenda Doby-Flewellyn said. 'This documentary couldn't be timelier and FBI is delighted to be associated with the production.'
