Milada Rybarova has exited her position as Head of Acquisitions at the beleaguered German producer-distributor Senator Entertainment to take up the newly created post of VP Sales and Acquisitions at Atlas Film + Medien from this week.

Rybarova began working at Senator in 2000 as an acquisitions executive and was made Head of Acquisitions in 2003.

Commenting on Rybarova's appointment, Atlas Film + Medien's majority shareholder and board chairman Paul Liwa explained that 'with the restructured Atlas team, we are confident of further boosting the company's growth.

Our goal is to strengthen our excellent position in the German TV and DVD market and simultaneously to focus more on the theatrical market. With her expertise and market experience, Milada Rybarova is a great addition to our team.'

Atlas's recent slate of acquisitions included the Jason Biggs comedy The Pleasure Of Your Company and the Jason Statham film Bank Job which were released successfully by the distribution partners Warner Bros. and Kinowelt, respectively.

Recent weeks have seen reports of a deepening financial crisis at Senator Entertainment where the company's Chief Creative Officer Marco Weber resigned from his post as from September 1 and, at the same time, acquired all shares in the US-based Senator Entertainment Inc. to concentrate on the production of English language films.

Weber's responsibilities at Senator were absorbed by his partner and acting CEO Helge Sasse, with the news that it was not planned to appoint another COO.
