The Academy of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences has namedseven films for consideration in the best make-up category at the upcoming 76thAcademy Awards.

The films are Cold Mountain, The Last Samurai, The Lord OfThe Rings: The Return Of The King, Master And Commander: The Far Side Of TheWorld, Monster, Peter Pan and Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse of The BlackPearl.

Ten-minute clip reels from each contender will be screenedfor the Make-up Award Nominating Committee on Jan 23, when members will eithernominate up to three films, recommend a single recipient for a specialachievement award or dismiss the whole lot.

Nominations will be announced on Jan 27 and the awardsceremony takes place in Los Angeles on Feb 29.
