The Sheffield Doc/Fest (Nov 7-11) handed out its first Grierson: Sheffield Awards as the UK festival closed this weekend.

The Green Award went to Davis Guggenheim's An Inconvenient Truth about the global climate crisis, the Innovation Award went to Mark Craig's Talk To Me about voicemail messages, and the Youth Jury Award went to Paul Taylor's We Are Together, about orphans in South Africa. The youth jury also gave a mention to Baghdad High.

Heather Croall, festival director said: 'The awards have been a tremendous success. The quality of the entries was high, making it a hard job for the jury. The winning films represent innovative methods of production and storytelling and capture the imagination of a youth audience.'
