Veteran composer HowardShore is launching the European tour of his Oscar winning The Lord Of TheRings score with a concert in theBelgian city of Antwerp on Apr 16.

The Lord Of The Rings Symphony: Six Movements for Orchestra and Chorus isbeing organised by the Flanders International Film Festival, a longtimesupporter of music in film, and the Flemish Radio Orchestra.

The concert will feature 200performers on stage, including the Flemish Radio Orchestra, the Antwerp choirand numerous instrumental and vocal soloists, and incorporate the imagery ofrenowned Tolkien artist Alan Lee.

Upcoming concert tour citiesin 2004 and 2005 include London, Sydney, New York, Los Angeles and Seville,among others.

Shore won the best scoreOscar for The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring in 2002 and repeated his success last month with theAcademy Award for trilogy finale The Return Of The King, when he also shared the best song prize with AnnieLennox for "Into The West".

Shore has composed thescores to more than 60 pictures including The Silence Of The Lambs,Philadelphia, Seven, Analyze This and Big.Upcoming releases include Martin Scorsese's The Aviator and a reteaming with Peter Jackson on King Kong.

Previous concerts organisedby the Flanders International Film Festival and the Flemish Radio Orchestrahave featured such musical luminaries as Hans Zimmer, Maurice Jarre, ElliotGoldenthal and Ennio Morricone.
