Alicia Silverstone andVincent Gallo have been confirmed as leads in $12 million psychological horrorpicture Moscow Zero, the new feature from Luna (Whore, Stranded). The film, due to shoot next month, is the firstproject from aggressive new Spanish production and sales outfit ValentiaPictures.

On the first morning of theAFM, Valentia pre-sold several territories on the project (including EasternEurope, Singapore and the Philippines) The project is a Spanish-UKco-production with British backing coming through financiers Visionview.

Moscow Zero is set on the underground in Moscow. Ananthropologist investigating the local folklore about ghosts in the tunnelsgets lost underground. Gallo plays the leader of the team who go down to rescuehim. To their dismay, the team discovers that there is a link between theunderground and the underworld.

Valentia, launched earlierthis year by Dolo Magan, aims to make star-driven, English-language films in the$10-$25 million range. Like itsrival Filmax, it has eye firmly fixed on the international market.

"Valentia Pictures was bornwith the idea of doing higher budgeted films than the average of Spanishcompanies and always with international actors," sales exec Cela Ortega toldScreen International.
